The Carmi-White County Bulldogs head into 2011 looking to improve on a season that sent the Bulldogs to the playoffs as part of a crowded six team Black Diamond Conference playoff group. CWC ended up in Class 2A in the 2010 IHSA Playoffs and lost in the first round to LIC semifinalist Casey-Westfield. Coach Kurt Simon is one of the the area's elite coaches and in his 16th season (93-58 .616) he is looking for his tenth playoff appearance at Carmi-White County. With only seven wins away he is also in reach of winning his century win, 100th, at CWC. The coaching staff also includes Clinton Wolff (Offensive Coordinator), Bart King (Defensive Coordinator), Tyler Boss (receivers, secondary, and special teams), Drew Haley (Line), and Denny Anderton and Kevin Wolff as freshman coach.
The Bulldogs return three all-BDC selections in Dylan Rankin, Cole Peterson, and Chase Sailer. Rankin (RB/LB 5'9 175) was a second team defensive selection and is returning as a junior. Peterson (RB/LB 5'9 180) was an honorable mention and as a senior is in his last year while the other honorable mention, Sailer (QB/DB 6'0 185), is returning as only a sophomore. Rasheen Jemine (5'10 205) senior will bring experience to both sides of the line. Lost to graduation is big time player, MVP of the BDC, Logan Rogers. The squad is expected to include 28 varsity players with 6 seniors returning. The offensive unit brings back eight starters running the Wing T and Spread and the defense returns seven starters in the 3-4. The seniors and returning starters coming back led to high expectations for the Bulldogs.
